Welcome to the home of Apple-Grove Toggenburgs.  We are located in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, along the beautiful Ohio River.  I began raising Nubian dairy goats in 1988, as a 4-H project.  In 1997, I decided to start showing at ADGA sanctioned shows, and introduced my first Toggenburg into the herd.  The Toggenburgs quickly became my favorite, so in 2002, the decision was made to sell off the Nubians, and concentrate solely on Toggs.

Small Toggenburg Picture I try to attend as many dairy goat shows as possible throughout the summer.  We attended the 2006 National Show in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The show was quite a learning experience!  The girls all placed well in their respective classes.  This year I only made it to a handful of shows due to other responsibilities.

Although Linear Appraisal has been utilized in the past, I have not been able to participate for the past few years.  I do intend on resuming participation soon.  I also hope to begin participating in DHIR in the near future.

All kids are raised on heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized milk, using the free choice method.  This method has proven to be worth it's weight in gold.  The kids are growing very well, are extrememly healthy, and the free time it allows is wonderful.  Kids are vaccinated with CD&T , given Bo-SE, and treated for coccidia.  They are started on good quality hay and fresh water, as soon as possible, and are weaned at 3 months of age.  A small amount of 18% grain is normally introduced around two weeks of age.

I require a $50 deposit to hold the kid of your choice.  There are no refunds of deposits on cancelled orders, after notification of your kid's birth.  It is recommended that you make a second choice, in the chance that your first choice is not available.  Your second choice will be held above another's first choice. Buck kids are rarely offered out of first fresheners, unless after ample time has passed to evaluate their udders, they look as though they will be an asset to the gene pool.  Health certificates are the responsibility of the buyer.  It is preferred that you come and pick up your kid at the farm, so you can see its relatives, but we can ship out of Pittsburg International Airport.

I hope you have enjoyed visiting with us, and I hope that you forgive me for the lack of photos.  I think my goats hate having their pictures taken as much as I do.  ;o)  Notice: Due to the fact that I am expecting my second child, and am on restricted activity because of complications, my parents have been handling most of the goat chores for me.  I do go to the barn every day, but since I can not mess with the bucks, the majority of does are pen bred.  Also, because I am due around the same time as the goats, you will need to contact my parents at 740-483-1917 (Paul or Paula Riggenbach) if you are interested in any of the kids.  Look for a large herd reduction this spring, as I'm going to have my hands full.  :o)  As always, the best way to reach me is by email: moon72578 @ aol.com.

Thanks,

Jennifer
